Why hire a Travel or Honeymoon Specialists when you can do it yourself!!!!

A love of travel and knowledge of this industry coupled with the enthusiasm for advising the travel enthusiast about travel destinations and itineraries, superb communication and computer skills are important traits for a Travel Specialists to have.
Travel Specialists assist travelers sort through vast amounts of information to help them determine the best possible travel arrangements. They offer advice on destinations such as the weather conditions, local ordinances and customs, attractions, and exhibitions and make arrangements for transportation, hotel accommodations, car rentals, and tours for their clients. They are also the primary source of bookings for most of the major cruise lines. In addition, resorts and specialty travel groups utilise travel specialists to promote cost effective packages to their clients. For those traveling internationally, specialists also provide information on customs regulations, required documents (passports, visas, and certificates of vaccination), travel advisories, and currency exchange rates. In the event of changes in their itinerary whether it is in the middle of a trip, or any such eventuality, travel specialists intercede on the traveler’s behalf to make alternate booking arrangements.

Travel agents make use of a variety of published and computer-based sources for information on departure and arrival times, fares, quality of hotel accommodations, and group discounts. They may also make prearranged visits to hotels, resorts, and restaurants themselves to evaluate the comfort, cleanliness, and the quality of specific hotels and restaurants so that they can base recommendations on their own experiences or those of colleagues or clients.
Specialists are increasingly facing competition from travel and airline websites for low-cost fares, but travelers still prefer using travel Specialists who can provide the personal customized touch through planning for complex itineraries to remote or multiple destinations.
Travel Specialists spend most of their time behind a desk conferring with clients, completing paperwork, contacting airlines and hotels to make travel arrangements, and promoting tours. Most of their time is spent either on the telephone or on the computer researching travel itineraries or updating reservations and travel documents. They may be under a great deal of pressure during travel emergencies or when they need to reschedule missed reservations. Peak vacation times, such as summer and holiday travel periods, also tend to be hectic.

Dogs and Travel

For those who enjoy having a dog as their pet but travel alot at the same time , does it make you feel bad leaving your pet behind? Wouldn't you like to travel with and be able to walk your pet in the mornings ? Well, I have news for you; Dog and cat owners who prefer not to fly can cross the Atlantic in style with their pets in tow on Cunard's Queen Mary 2. Animals are permitted transatlantic crossings only, not on the regular cruises around the Mediterranean or the Caribbean. They must have all the necessary paperwork. During the voyage, they are cared for by the housekeeping staff. They are not allowed in the cabins for hygiene purposes. The kennel is fully climate-controlled and a chart on the wall lists each animal's dietary preferences, while doggie lifejackets are stored in a special cupboard and the floor is scattered with chews and toys.
The kennel is a genuinely useful service but only dogs and cats are allowed - no parrots or pot-bellied pigs. My question is, would the animals get seasick like humans do? I imagine some of them do.

From what I understand, owners can visit or walk their dogs atleast two times a day, play with them and do whatever it is they like to do with their pets in a designated area. If I were a dog I would certainly enjoy that. Like humans, when dogs meet new dogs, they meet and greet in there own way. I remember cruising for three days not so long ago and toward the second day I began to feel so depressed for my dog sydney. Mind you, he was in good hands. When I returned from my trip, I was told he sat at the door the whole weekend with his head hung low. I know that that's a sign of despair and I never want to leave him again. Finding out that there is a cruiseline that accomodates my dog is unbelievable.
Those pets who do get left at home do not, however, have to miss out on the cruise experience. One of the onboard shops sells branded leads, collars, doggie overcoats in three sizes and china dog bowls.
